Who is eligible to apply?
U.S. Citizens with a doctoral level degree and at least in their 2nd year of postdoctoral fellowship with a demonstrated commitment to geriatric palliative care or dementia research.​

WHAT, WHEN & WHERE?
June 2026 - April 2027, with 10 virtual meetings at times established by group. The required institute occurs October 12-16th, 2026, in Chapel Hill, NC.

FAQs
How much previous experience is needed for this program? ​
A: The program is appropriate for researchers interested in developing competence in the planning, design, and execution of randomized clinical trials in persons with Alzheimer’s Disease or Related Dementias (ADRD). ​

I won't be able to make it to the Institute in person, could I participate virtually? ​
A: All scholars must attend the Institute in person in its entirety.​
Do I have to be in the process of writing a grant to apply? I'm not sure which grant to apply for. ​
A: You do not need to be in the process of applying for a grant to be eligible. However, those applicants who have a clear sense of the work they want to do are more competitive in the application process. ​
How many scholars will be in the program?​
A: Approximately 12 scholars will be in this year’s cohort. ​
What does this program cost?​
A: This program is provided to you free of charge and is supported by a R25 grant from the National Institute on Aging (1R25AG076388). ​
