Diana Layne, PhD, RN

Dr.   Diana Layne, PhD, RN, CPHQ is an Assistant Professor in the MUSC College of   Nursing with primary teaching responsibilities in the PhD Program as well as   the Doctor of Nursing Practice program. She has been a registered nurse for   20 years. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing and Master   of Science degree in nursing with a concentration in Acute Care Leadership   from East Carolina University. She received her PhD from the Medical   University of South Carolina in Nursing Science.

   Dr. Layne is a palliative care researcher specifically interested in   increasing early access to palliative care for those living with Alzheimer’s   Disease and Related Dementias. Ultimately, Dr. Layne is interested in   improving overall quality for those living with dementia and their   caregivers. In 2021, Dr. Layne received a KL2 Career Development Award   through SC Clinical and Translational Research Institute. She is currently   working to adapt and pilot test an existing nurse led palliative care   intervention for use in individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease and their   caregivers.
