Dr. Jasmine Santoyo-Olsson is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Geriatrics at the University of California, San Francisco. She is a socio-behavioral scientist with expertise in community-engaged research at the intersection of multicultural health, aging, and caregiving. Using mixed methods, she examines caregivers’ challenges navigating fragmented financial, legal, and benefits systems, as well as gaps in knowledge of key planning documents among caregivers of persons living with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias (AD/ADRD). Her research is funded by the Alzheimer's Association.
Ultimately, Dr. Santoyo-Olsson aims to develop and test scalable financial and legal navigation interventions to reduce financial toxicity and improve quality of life for people living with dementia and their caregivers.
