Jordan Alpert, PhD

Dr. Jordan Alpert is a Staff member in the Department of Internal Medicine and Geriatrics, a core investigator in the Center for Value-Based Care Research at the Cleveland Clinic, and an Associate Professor in the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University. His research focuses on enhancing the quality of interactions between patients, providers, and caregivers. Dr. Alpert previously concentrated on the influence of health information technology to facilitate patient-provider communication and explored how electronic health records, patient portals, and wearable devices affect patterns of communication among patients and providers. Currently, Dr. Alpert is assessing the communication process between informal caregivers of patients with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementia (ADRD) and clinicians, to understand how they interact with one another, seek information, and discuss sensitive topics like disease management and end-of-life.
