Sharon Bigger, PhD, MA, RN, CHPN, CNE

Sharon Bigger, PhD, MA, RN, CHPN, CNE, is currently an Assistant Professor of Nursing at East Tennessee State University and is an incoming postdoctoral fellow at the University of Utah College of Nursing. Her program of research focuses on communication with diverse populations with chronic, terminal illnesses such as dementia, with a specific focus on care transitions between skilled home health and hospice. She serves as a research development consultant and instructor for the End-of-Life Nursing Education Consortium (ELNEC)-Mexico. Having served as a medical interpreter prior to her nursing career, Dr. Bigger is bilingual in English and Spanish. Her future research will focus on advance care planning with Hispanic/Latino persons living with dementia and their care partners.
