Steffi Kim, PhD

Scholar, 2026

Dr. Steffi Marotzke Kim is a licensed Clinical-Community Psychologist, Assistant Professor of Psychology at the University of Alaska Anchorage, and the Director of the Alaska Native Community-Engaged Aging Research Lab, where she leads community-driven research focused on aging, and dementia within Alaska Native communities. Her work centers on culturally responsive, community-based participatory research that explores stigma related to Alzheimer’s disease and caregiving, developing culturally sensitive resources appropriate for remote dementia caregiving needs, Elder well-being and mental health, and “aging well” among Indigenous populations. Looking ahead, Dr. Kim’s research trajectory is focused on expanding collaborative, statewide partnerships and developing culturally grounded interventions and resources that support Alaska Native Elders and caregivers, with the goal of influencing policy, improving health equity, and strengthening community-based systems of care in rural and underserved settings.
